School Uniforms & Shoes

There are two South African companies that manufacture school uniforms locally. Look out for the AllWear (also selling as Primarius, Prefect and Schoolmaid) and Lancashire’s Envoy labels.

If you are buying uniforms through the school and they have a different label or a label identifying them as having been made overseas, you could talk to a few like-minded parents and lobby the school to change their supplier to a local manufacturer.

PEP Stores stock locally made school uniforms under the Student Prince label. All grey pants, blue and maroon jerseys, short pants and grey socks are manufactured in South Africa. However, the shirts are made in Bangladesh. The Trustees shoes are also locally made, but not the Toughees.
